About
The Sonic Journey
Based in the Netherlands, Franticnick is an electronic music producer and sound designer who has been sculpting audio since before the year 2000.
His deep connection to electronic soundscapes began in the early 1990s, fully immersed in the psychedelic trance and free techno-trance scene. During this seminal era, he was deeply involved in organizing underground parties, hosting sound systems, and performing DJ sets using CDs. In those early years, his raw compositions and experimental projects were released under the alias Shox, but he very quickly became known as Franticnick.
Over the decades, his philosophy has remained centered on crafting immersive audio-visual environments that pull the listener in, layering rich synthesizers, syncopated sequences, and generative algorithms.
Gear & Tech Evolution
DAWs & Sound Design
Starting with ReBirth RB-338, he has built his production environment around the creative routing and rack architecture of Reason, using it to sculpt the core tones of his electronic soundscapes.
Tactile & Main Workflow
Blending the digital and tactile worlds, his workflow is centered around Bitwig Studio (his main DAW) and Reason, utilizing the Native Instruments Maschine Mk3 and MIDI keyboards for hands-on rhythm production, arrangement, and expressive controller modulation.
Visuals & AI Integration
Constantly pushing boundaries, his music merges custom synthesis with generative concepts. Today, his releases incorporate responsive WebGL visualizers that react dynamically to the audio frequencies, transforming deep electronic beats into fully realized interactive journeys.
